Spodek & Co. Achieves WBE Canada Certification: Championing Diversity and Inclusion as a Women-Owned Business

It’s always been a point of pride for us at Spodek & Co. that we are — and have always been — a women-owned, women-led, and women-run business.

We’re thrilled to announce that as of July 12, 2023, we’re also WBE Canada Certified, meaning we have successfully met the eligibility criteria for certification as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) as required by corporate and government supplier diversity programs.

This is big news for us; we’re thrilled to be a WBE!

What is WBE Canada Certification?

WBE Canada certification is built on the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) U.S. model, following global supplier diversity standards.

WBE certification refers to an independent business majority-owned and operated by women, with ownership constituting at least 51%. In Canada, WBE Canada certifies and advocates for women-owned businesses.

Imagine WBE certification as a seal of approval. It assures businesses looking to partner with women-owned businesses or diverse suppliers that we are an excellent fit for their goals and values.

Why should you hire a women-owned business?

When choosing a partner or supplier, there’s a compelling reason to include women-owned businesses in your network. Not only does this showcase your dedication to nurturing diversity, but it also holds the potential to boost your bottom line.

And that’s not all:

Diversity and Inclusion

Women-owned businesses often emphasize diversity and inclusion in their recruitment and operational strategies. This cultivates a more diverse and inclusive work environment, elevating employee morale and productivity.

Cultivating Innovation

Studies have shown that diverse teams are more innovative and likely to develop better solutions for complicated problems. Working with a women-owned business allows you to access unique perspectives and ideas, leading to distinctive products and services.

Championing Social Responsibility

Many women-owned businesses prioritize giving back, incorporating social responsibility into the foundation of their values. Partnering with a woman-owned business allows you to take pride in supporting a company dedicated to positively impacting the world.

Enhanced Public Relations

Collaborating with a WBE isn’t just a smart business move; it’s a statement about your values. This association underscores your dedication to diversity and makes your business more appealing to customers and corporations.

Working with women-owned businesses isn’t just about commitment to diversity – it’s a strategic decision that paves the way for innovation, financial gains, enhanced reputation, and expanded opportunities.

In an always-evolving business landscape, harnessing the power of women-owned businesses isn’t just advantageous — it’s essential.
